Building Department - Inspection Services Building Department: Home Contractor Licenses & Permits Forms & Applications Inspection Services Inspections required for construction, property maintenance, fire, health, real estate sales and rental housing are scheduled through the inspection services division. Inspection requirements and fees are listed below.
Commercial Occupancies: In order to ensure compliance with current codes, all commercial occupancies are scheduled for a combined fire/property maintenance inspection annually. Where violations have been noted, re-inspections are conducted to insure compliance. There is no charge for these annual inspections; however, property owners failing to bring their property into compliance are subject to citations and fines.
Real Estate Sales All real estate sold within the village must be inspected prior to closing. The requirements and fees are as follows:
A final water meter reading must be obtained and paid. This must be scheduled through the water department.
Construction $35.00 fee for each inspection required (noted on building permit)
Rental Housing All rental housing (residential or multi-family) must be registered and inspected annually.
Health Inspections The Village Health Inspector inspects establishments serving food annually. There is no fee for these inspections; however, establishments failing to comply with a violation notice are subject to citation and fines.
