A Message from Mayor Kelly Burke
As the holiday season approaches, I want to take a moment to remind everyone of the importance of supporting our local businesses, especially our small and locally-owned businesses. Small businesses are the backbone of our community, and they need our support now more than ever. Whether it’s a unique boutique, a florist, or a family-owned restaurant, we can all do our part to support our local small businesses. That is why I'm
excited to announce that Saturday, November 25, 2023, is Small Business Saturday.
While we are grateful for all of the businesses that have chosen to locate in Evergreen Park, Small Business Saturday is an opportunity to celebrate and support our unique, small businesses and all they do for our village. Small businesses need our support and I encourage all of you to participate in this important event. Here are some ideas:
- Shop, eat, or use a service at a place in town you haven't used before. This is a great opportunity to explore new businesses and discover hidden gems in our community. You might be surprised at what you find!
- Spread the word. Tell your friends and family about Small Business Saturday and encourage them to participate. Tell them about the new business you tried. You can also share information about the event on social media or by word of mouth.
- Get free Small Business Saturday marketing materials. If you're a small business owner, you can get free marketing materials, including sample posters and social media resources, to help promote your business on the Small Business Administration website.
Remember, when you shop at a small business, you're not just supporting the business owner. You are also supporting the local economy and helping to create jobs in our community. Let's all do our part to support local small businesses on Small Business Saturday, throughout the holiday season, and beyond.
