1-800-Got-Junk (there is a fee involved based on the volume of stuff removed).  Items such as sofas & refrigerators or hazardous garbage such as old car batteries will be taken.

 

The Illinois EPA offers One Day Household Hazardous Waste Collections.  These normally take place in the Spring and Fall.  Call the Recycling Director at (708)229-8219 for more information.
