Call J.U.L.I.E. before you dig. State law requires anyone planning an outdoor project that requires any type of digging to call J.U.L.I.E. first at 1-800-892-0123. Location and services are free and require at least 48 hours notice.
The Evergreen Park Fire Department will check your child's car seat to see if it is properly secured and fastened, and will also let parents know if there has been any manufactured recalls. Call the Fire Department at (708)422-2148 to schedule an appointment.
The Village of Evergreen Park would like to remind its' residents that if they have an unlisted phone number to call the police department at (708)422-2142 and ask for Wayne Gutowski or records in order to be included on the list of contacts for the city watch program. The Evergreen Park Police Department is offering, free to Evergreen Park residents, emergency beacon flashing devices for your outdoor light. The device makes your light bulb a flashing signal improving response time for emergency personnel. Perfect for use in porch lights, outdoor lanterns, and lamps easily seen from the outdoors. When you turn your light on, it will operate normally. By turning the switch off and on twice the emergency beacon flashing device will tell your light bulb to begin flashing. Your light bulb will remain flashing for 2 hours. Emergency beacon flashing devices can be picked up at the Village Hall, 9418 S. Kedzie. Quantities are limited. One device per resident. Proof of residency is required.
In an effort to bring your tax dollars closer to home, the OCS has partnered with Community Nutrition Network, Oak Lawn site. As this is a federal program, a registration form is completed. Once completed we ask you to register each month to pick up your meal. Meals are distributed through the kitchen window. Time: 12:15 - 1:15. A small donation is required. Vacation Watch is one of the most utilized programs offered. Residents that will be on vacation or away for a period of time should advise the police who in turn provide a minimum of three premise exams daily. Services of this nature provide the resident with the comfort of knowing their home is being watched.
