The Evergreen Park Youth Commission was founded on the belief that youth, when given the opportunity, will make responsible choices and valuable contributions to the community.  Our goal is to develop and implement a diverse program of activities that will offer the youth 12 and over of Evergreen Park a wide range of positive developmental activities, such as:  

  • Employment Referral Services - Refers teens to residents in need of workers and businesses seeking employees. 
  • Chores - Teens available for raking leaves, cutting grass, snow shoveling and odd jobs for Evergreen Park residents.
  • Community Service - Teens available to help many service clubs and charitable organizations.
  • Drop-in Center - 3450 West 97th Street, room 105, includes a game room with arcade games, Wii, X-box 360, Playstation 2 & Nintendo, video games, air hockey & Fooseball. ping pong and 2 pool tables, super hockey, a Karaoke stereo system with CD player and a large screen TV-VCR Special Events - Offered throughout the year such as: basketball tourneys,basketball leagues bowling parties, skiing, trips to Great America,  Badlandz Paintball, rock climbing, Tinley Park Roller Rink, Enchanted Castle, Laser Tag, paintball trips & Space Golf.  Most trips are for 12-16 year olds. 
  • Summer trips for 12-17 year olds. 
  • Certification classes for babysitting and CPR.
  • Open Gym Times at the Activity Center,3220 West 98th Street for 5th, 6th, 7th & 8th graders.  Fridays 6:00-8:00pm  October - April.   Fee of $4.
