Building Department
These are the permits and applications you will use for a variety of building or renovation projects:

Please be advised that the Building Department requires COMMERCIAL PERMITS to include:

- A fully completed permit application.  All applications must be submitted with complete architectural, civil, engineering, fire protection, fire alarm, MWRD permit applications, and IDOT applications.  All drawings must have original seals and signatures.

- All questions concerning Commercial Permits must be submitted in writing to the Building Commissioner from a licensed architect or engineer.

- The Building Department will no longer share information concerning Commercial Permits via e-mail, written questionnaires or over the telephone.

- The Building Department will not answer questions nor accept permit submittals from any Permit Expeditors.



Clerk's Office 
These are the permits and applications you will use for personal and/or home needs.

Birth and Death Certificates
Birth records are available at the Village Hall for those persons born at Little Company of Mary Hospital and death records are available for those who have expired within the village boundaries (hospital, nursing home, at home, etc). The birth and death records available date back to the late 1800s.

Cost
Birth Certificates
$10.00 (cash only) for one copy; $2.00 (cash only) for each additional copy purchased at the same time.

Death Certificates
$17.00 (cash only) for one copy; $7.00 (cash only) for each additional copy.

For mail in requests, certified checks or money orders are accepted.
